xACT Case Competition

We are excited to announce that PwC will be hosting its 4th annual case competition at the University of Washington! xACT, which stands for "Extreme Accounting", is a student competition that focuses on accounting policy decisions. The case will provide a wonderful opportunity for you to practice critical thinking, teamwork and presentation skills in the context of a real-world accounting issue as well as win substantial cash prizes!
Who:
YOU! Teams consist of 5 students, including at least 2 sophomores and 1 junior. Remaining team members may be sophomores, juniors, seniors or fifth-year (MPacc) students. All team members must be enrolled in the first accounting courses or be an accounting major/minor at the undergraduate or graduate level.
What:
Teams will be given 2 weeks during October to research a real world accounting and auditing issue which will test their critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills. Because xACT is focused on policy and planning issues, it doesn't require knowledge of detailed accounting policies and rules.
When:
- Info Session - October 4th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., Balmer 314 (Pizza!)
- Mission Meeting - October 12th, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m., Location TBD
- Campus presentations - October 26th, Time TBD, Boeing Auditorium (EEC 110) in Bank of America Executive Education Center (Celebratory Event & Announcement of Winners to follow BAP Meeting)
Why:
- ALL participants receive a $25 ITunes giftcard
- A winning team will be chosen on each campus and will receive $1,000!
- 5 national finalist teams (chosen from all participating Universities) will receive $10,000 per team!
- Team with your friends to learn more about high level business issues!
- Build relationships with PwC professionals!
