Business and Economic Development Center (BEDC)
Gain real word experience working one-on-one with a developing business here in Seattle with the 13-year old Foster Business School Business and Economic Development Center. You will be assigned to work on a team including other BAP members and a professional. You and your team will be the sole accounting advisors for one business owner during Fall Quarter. Your responsibilities will include setting up accounting record-keeping, learning to install and to train your owner in use of accounting software, and providing advice about business usage of financial statements. Bookkeeper - University District Food Bank
The University District Food Bank is looking to recruit a bookkeeper to assist in the efficiency of daily operations. Ideally, they are looking for a junior who can also commit to some time over the summer and will continue to volunteer in the upcoming school year.
This is a volunteer position and provide an excellent opportunity to understand bookkeeping for a non-profit organization. The selected volunteer will receive BAP service hours for their time.
Bookkeeper position description:
- Prepare deposits bi-weekly
- Write checks; resolve Accounts Payable issues
- Assist in the preparation of the budget.
- Keep QuickBooks up to date.
- Assist in the preparation of the Food Bank's tax information
- Perform monthly reconciliations
This position would require 2 to 4 hours a week.
