No Show Policy
As members of a professional organization, it is very important that we honor our time commitments. The non-profit organizations we plan service events with depend on our volunteers to show up when they are scheduled and to perform the duties they have signed up to do. Additionally, firms and companies spend time and resources to plan events with Beta Alpha Psi. Failure to attend demonstrates a lack of responsibility and credibility for both Beta Alpha Psi and our members.
This year we are implementing a new no-show policy to help ensure that each member is responsible for the events they sign up for, including both service and professional events. If you sign up for an event and later realize you cannot attend that event, you MUST cancel a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the event date. Many events have limited spots so this ensures that those who would like to attend and are on a waiting list, may have the opportunity to do so. If cancellations are not made a minimum of 24 hours before the event, a 3-step program will be implemented:
1st Offense: Warning and 1 additional professional or service hour added to total yearly requirement
2nd Offense: 5 additional professional or service hours added to total yearly requirement
3rd Offense: Dropped from membership
This policy is designed to assist our members in becoming dependable professionals. Please be responsible for the time you commit to BAP and all the organizations we work with.
